*No Dharma Talk **Two Rounds of Zazen *** Rohatsu Zazenkai
Rohatsu means the 12th month, the eighth day. This the most important day of the Buddhist calendar. It marks the date of Buddha’s enlightenment. We celebrate Rohatsu by holding a Zazenkai (Coming together for zazen) and by readings from the Buddhacarita (The Life of the Buddha). Rohatsu Zazenkai includes four rounds of zazen, each representing one of the “four watches of the night” culminating in Buddha’s enlightenment.
