The Great Matter of Birth-and-Death in Zen Buddhism and Psychoanalysis 2nd Annual Retreat/Conference, June 5-8, 2025

Noyes Pond
This weekend gathering balances Zen Buddhist meditation practice with clinical and/or theoretical presentations and collegial discussion.
Experientially, both psychoanalysis and Zen Buddhism are practices that occur within the passage of time, impermanence, and impossibility, in relation to the intricacies of personal histories, as scripted and driven by unknown causes and conditions, to find a way, a path to an end of suffering. As practices that identify erroneous notions of a separate self, both forms provide liberative means that enable the development of compassion and empathy, foundational skills that by extension, turn our realizations of interconnectedness toward others, including: animals, plants, soil, oceans, atmosphere; in realization of whole being.
We invite you to submit a proposal for a presentation limited to thirty minutes followed by thirty minutes for discussion. If you wish to present, please submit a 100 -word abstract of your proposal including title along with a brief bio (100 word max) by March 15, 2025.
The conference will be held at the historic Seyon Lodge on Noyes Pond located in the beautiful Groton Vermont State Forest and limited to 10 participants. Rooms are limited so please respond to us early with your intention to attend. Meals will be catered. An all-inclusive registration fee of $500 will secure your reservation.
